I have always loved music. My earliest memories of songs are
“rubber-ducky, you’re the one, you make bath-time lots of fun,” by Kermit the Frog and
Fozzie Bear. Then came How Deep is Your Love by the Bee Gees, Just My Imagination by
The Temptations, and Celebration by Kool & the Gang. Even today when I hear those songs,
I can remember what I was doing when I first heard them. Songs are really just pictures
for your ears.
Music has always been an escape for me. I sucked at sports in school and to this day
I would rather watch VH1’s-Behind the Cindy Lauper than watch the Super Bowl. Whether
my mom is yelling at me to finish my homework or I am stuck in a traffic jam, I can pop
in my favorite tunes and go to another planet! I eventually realized that I wanted to be
the guy making the music and rockin on stage. I wanted to be the guy inside the radio,
literally. I want people to come to an FKDB show, have a tall-cool one, and forget about
their crappy job, mid-term, or the person that just broke their heart.
I was lucky enough to purchase an electric guitar with my paper route money in 7th grade.
I haven’t stopped jamming ever since. My favorite guitar players are Jimmy Page, Slash,
Carlos Santana, Warren Haynes, Tom Morello, Henry Garza, David Gilmour, and Jerry Garcia.
Picking out my favorite bands is like picking out my favorite cereal brand. It is a
difficult and lengthy list. My top 11 would have to be Led Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails,
Los Lonely Boys, Dinosaur Jr., Guns N Roses, the Dead, Coldplay, Jane’s Addiction, James
Brown, Pink Floyd, and the Allman Brothers. My favorite cereal is a toss up between
Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Grape Nuts w/lots of sugar.
It is no surprise that I enjoy live music. My favorite concerts would be Jane’s
Addiction in 1991-Hara Arena, Guns & Roses 1992-Nutter Center, Metallica 1992-Nutter
Center, Grateful Dead 1994-Buckeye Lake, NIN-Hard Rock inVegas 2005, and front-row for
Los Lonely Boys & Santana 2005-Indianapolis!
I have been in Fatkid Dodgeball since September of 2001. The Fatkids are my brothers.
They are my fellow officers in my Rock and Roll Army. We have just recently graduated
from Rock and Roll boot camp and are ready to rock! Seeya at the next show!
